Just had a couple of Lexar 2 gig CF cards freeze up with the Canon 40D. A couple of questions: how can I recover? The folders are acknowledged with programs like DPP, but images aren't. Also, is this me doing something with the Canon 40D (ie are there quirks with this one?), like reviewing too quickly, or is it just plain old card aging?
Thanks.

Use a program called RescuePro, it comes free with Sandisk cards but you can get it at this site,
We used this program when one of my brothers Lexar cards wouldn't download the photos. He has used it a couple times since and has always recovered the images, in fact it "recovered" some images that were erased from the card 2 and 3 generations back.

Thanks, Scott. I'll give that a try. Sounds hopeful.

I once accidentally formatted a card in the camera when all I wanted to do was check how much space was left on the card - cursored to OK instead of Cancel! We were able to rescue MOST of athe images...so I was quite amazed and relieved. If you haven't already done the rescue, I'm sure you will be successful.

It's pretty effective.
