When I woke up to a blizzard and a good thick layer of snow on Sunday morning, I thought I would get a whole day's photography out of it. But two hours later it was all gone. I managed a few blackbird shots for a change before it was too late. I like this one particularly.
400D 100-400 @ 285mm
1/200 f/5.6 iso 400
crop Ls to Portrait
Cs3 NN usm 50/0.9/2 x 2
temp 5850 (Is that snow still too blue?)
I have stretched the snow at the bottom a little to give some more virtual legroom.
Thanks for looking.

Looks like you got the exposure pretty much spot-on Eric and the snow has helped throw some bounced light back up at the subject - you can see the iris of the eye quite clearly
If ever you want to check 'whites' for a slight cast just run your cursor over them with the 'info' panel open - if you do it here in the whites at the bottom of the frame you'll see that the Red content is in the 230's, the Green in the 240's and the Blue is nearly maxed out in the low 250's.
So yes there's a bit of a cast still in there but it's on the blue side of cyan (blue-ish blue-green!) but wether it would look better with all 3 colours running in the 230's or 240's is a bit subjective - works for me as it is mate
I like this photo but would have preferred no snow on beak so that you have proper outline of orange beak against the background.

Sweet shot, personally, I like the snow on his beak. There is just no pleasing everyone!

For some of us snow is a real bonus so Eric you have made a good reminder of what was, all be it briefly.
Difficult to expose correctly and the snow on the bill is a bonus.
