While out stalking foxes yesterday, I heard a gawd-awful yipping/barking fit. I figured either a fox had snagged a chihuahua or a coyote had snagged a fox. I ran to investigate and found a red fox in a tree yipping and barking it's head off. Not too far away was one of the largest coyotes I've seen in a while. Pretty soon several foxes were involved in the yipping and barking.
I assume that's some sort of warning system for the foxes, or a way of chasing off the coyote.
Either way, it was very interesting to witness this episode.

Nice shot. I like the colors. The coyotes are pretty popular around there this time of year.

where are you finding these foxes? I'd love to go out and get a shot like this. I'm off Weds and Thurs so let me know where to go and what you think is best lens...thanks.
