A little OT - Death Valley Photos
Though I wondered around some of the out of the way places in Death Valley, it was such a strangely unfamaliar landscape that my better photos were probably a little common. Sunrise at Zabriskie Point had a line up of photographers that would rival the Bells, but was a wonderful scene to behold.

A little closer view at Zabriskie Point

Sunset at the salt formations in the valley floor was a little wild as the mountains all around had a reddish hue and the flats streched on, with a bluish cast from the evening sky. I stood there well after sunset just to watch. This one doesn't give it justice, but maybe a reason to return...

Some patterns on the hills.

Nice shots, Roger! I particularly like the first two. The colors and shadows in the second are very nice.

Very nice - especially like the soft, subtle colors of the first image. Looks like a good trip!

#2 is my favorite. Love them shadows.

Hard to pick faves, since they're all nice. I think #2 and #4 are it for me.

I really like those first two. Zabriskie Point is such a cool area.

#2-#4 are the winners, #2 being my fave although #4 is right behind it.

Roger,
Great series. Never been there but would love to go sometime. Like the others, I like #2 and #4 the best but REALLY like #2. thanks for sharing. Pat.

Thanks for all of the comments! I'd actually added #4 as an after thought in it's helpful to know others like it. Patrick, glad you're still checking into the forum. Haven't seen much from you for a while. Death Valley is a huge area and quite interesting. The camping areas sort of suck, but would still like to go back.

1,2,4 are sweet! I understand your underwhelming response to 3, I have had many similar times where the image didn't live up to the experience. All in all nice work Roger.

It's a fascinating place and your shots show off the unique nature of it well. #2 really sings, though they're all pretty solid images. Nice shooting.
