Tree Pipit Bathing
Tree Pipit

Now this is the non flash type of stuff I started doing at the pool after I stopped using triple flash all the time.
The main problem is the light and so until the trees burst into leave is the busy time. After that its back to flash again.
In the main you loose far more shots like this than with flash. We are talking shutter speeds of down to 25 th sometimes, usually at f8 and often on 800 ISO.
The only consolation is when it works its worth it.!
After all you only need one shot.!
D200 Sigma 100-300mm.
I,ll say more about the pool set up later.
Cheers

Fantastic, to be hinest i prefer this to the flash images.

Yes I do Paul but later in the year its impossible without it, as the pools are in shade. Woodland birds don't seem to like it too open. ( Well mine don't anyway ! )

Hi John, Another cracker.
I got permission from the wife this morning to construct a raised pond. Thanks for the inspiration. I look forward to any information you are able to share on pool construction for photography.

Thanks and regards,
Austin

To me this is a stunning shot John, but then your pics always are. I love the pool shots and the clarity of the water is amazing

Lovely shot John, I take it you are using a polarizer with these shots?

Paul
No ,I,m not . It just varies according to where the sun is. As you will see it has been suggested I get one, but to be honest if there are reflections, thats what I go for.

Greata shot John. As they all seem to be.
You wouldn't see those feet would you with a lower PoV.
