Uptail Long tail.
Long Tailed Tit
As you may well know, Long tails have to stick the tail up like this when in the nest. When they come off to bathe it takes a while to go back down !
Woodland pool
D100 Sigma 100-300mm
Iso 640 80th second.
Camera contrast down.
Exposure Comp -1 stop
Filtered in neatimage and contrast etc adj in Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks again.
This does seem to be a very well liked shot wherever it is seen.

Very different to the norm. Well captured - have you ever thought about using a polariser to get rid of the water reflections
Posted by John Robinson on March 29, 2008 at 7:31 AM
Tom
Yes I have actually but it's a bit of a dilemma. The reflections in some cases are the whole point of the pictures and are often better than the bird ! The other thing is I am struggling with the lack of light as it is so a pol. filter is not going to help a lot. I may try some to see what happens. Later when the leaves are on you can see to the bottom of the pool anyway, but when the leaves are on- no light ! It's a pain !!
Cheers

PS Tom
Just checked on the filter - £170 !
Not this pension week I I'll have to live with the reflections !
Cheers

It's a really great shot........for some reason though (probably my wine soaked mind at the moment) I can't help but think it looks a bit constipated!

Thanks
Paul - perhaps if you'd been sat scrunched up in a confined space for a few hours you would be !! :toast: :toast:

Stop it John, I'm beginning(?) to feel inadequate.
Another outstanding shot; the bar just keeps going up on this forum.
