Woodland Ride
Canon EOS 1Ds MKII, 300mm f2.8, 1.4x conv, f4, ISO 800, Full frame, hamd held.

Hi All,

Visited a spot at first light that I know Barn Owls frequent, for the last few weeks when I have managed to get up there I have drawn a blank, but today as I got there a stunning male bird was busily quartering the rough grass, I managed some shots but pretty distance, I was just pleased to see him hunting. Then I had a walk through some paths and woodland and spotted this image of a small ride with the rising sun backlighting it. I have a couple of points I'm not to sure about, Should I clone out the yellow path directors? And does the colour seem to have a magenta cast? I have tried to rectify the colour but then it looks to yellow/green or blue.

All comments welcome

Regards

Rob

Colour looks ok to me but not sure about the post. If it had been a rusticy (?) old job it would have looked better maybe. The signs don't seem too obtrusive to me. Cheers

Hi Rob,

Lovely image and I like it as it is with the sign! Colours look good on my monitor.

I quite like this, its nicely composed and the colours etc look fine too.
I think that the branch that hangs down and merges with the top of the post is more of an issue than the little signs, would have been worth moving/rearranging that at the time of shooting! Mostly though I feel it needs a figure in it, an OOF rambler in the background perhaps!

I like the general feel of the shot too. Yes, sure, a rambler would absolutely 'make' it.
