Caged Bird
I took this at the aviary in Abbington park in Northampton. It's not a terribly interesting picture but I thought the colours of the bird made an interesting contrast with the drab colours of it's cage.

I've been spending a lot of time experimenting with the f's and ISO's and shutter speed of my camera and I think I'm slowly starting to get my head around it. Just have to learn how to play nicely with photoshop.

Here are the specs:
f3.9
ISO 400
1/200

All comments welcome.

Hi Payat,

Nice capture! Shame he's not looking at you! Beautiful colours though! and the focus is on the bird! Could you have gotten the lens right up to the fence? because if you could have it wouldn't have shown up so clearly (when I mean close the lens is actually on the fence!).

The image would be so much better if the bird was looking your way, also it was taken through the fence....which distracts from the bird, a good effort!

I agree with Paul and Rene. Also next time it might be worth trying a portrait shot so you can include all of the tail aswell.

Every picture tells a story and for me this one says "I don't like being in a cage and I can't bear to look at the wide open spaces beyond."
