Stickles in a Pickle

Three Spined Sticklebacks
From my freshwater fish sessions.
It was interesting that whilst mating(or trying to,) the male's ventrals took on this wierd fluorescent appearance which seemed to be brought out by the flashes.
Two Metz 402's in front(heavily baffled) -one small slave on top of the tank. D200 Standard lens with close up lenses ( a 1 and a 2D I think )
Processed in PaintShop Pro but not a lot done.

Do the males not usually go brilliant red in the belly region when they are breeding, John?
Great shot. Makes me wish I was 10 again.
