Saturday morning Rebecca and I got up with a BAD case of Cabin fever so we loaded up the Jeep and got away from here!
After a lot of driving around, we finally made it down to the Sand Dunes and did some exploring on and off the Dunes. We stayed till sunset then made our way hope refreashed and relaxed.
Great light, James! appears to have a slight (dare i say) yellow cast in the first shot. Derek--Crestone is in the center of the first shot. Dont be deceived by the windblown slopes, there is still tons of snow even at the elevation of Zapata falls!

Hey James, nice - I vote for the pano too, sweet! My wife and I were on the other of Crestone yesterday and we almost went to the dunes. I will post some shots when I get them sorted and processed.

Yep, I really like the pano. The light seems just right to me.
How many hours to the dunes from Southern denver suburbs? Anybody know?

James,
You can't imagine how jealous of these I am. I very much considered heading to the dunes for sunset last night and thought the clouds would look just like this. I'd have to say that I prefer the pano of these two.

The pano is my favorite. Is that Crestone in the background? Thats great that you got some nice clouds 'And' visible mtns at sunset.
The first one seems to have a bit of a color shift/cast. But maybe it was the sky at the time.
Did you take any from/on the dunes as well? Its good to see some snow on the Sangres still. But things look like they are melting fast.
Its almost time to put the hiking boots on and get into them there hills! April is almost upon us.
