Great job adding the top of its ears .Don't really know why you ask'd if it's acceptable ?.If you didn't say anything, then no one would of known!.
I really like the water flick from it's foot, and the pose.
I think a bit more USM would look good aswell.

Very nice hare image, a bit smaller in the frame would be nice, but great as it is!

I love this shot..I would not have spotted that you tinkered with the ears! I love the slight blurring of the front feet and the water splashes. Well done.

Nice shot Rob , there's nothing worse than having the tops of your big floppy ears chopped off , good job with the surgery

Hi
Excellent job with the ears, I would never have guessed. I've had a on going battle with Hares this year, live next to land that has more Hares than rabbits, about 7-8 in every field but still cannot get close enough, and not aloud to take car on land so everything on foot..I'll get there one day..

Works for me, lovely image and the water coming of the feet give it a nice touch.

Lovely shot Rob - the foot shaken water makes the image a bit special
Nope - I can't tell
It could just do with a tad of sharpening to finish it off

Agree with AA; that foot-shake makes the shot for me.
I can't see the join even now you have mentioned it, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
It just looks a little soft to me, which brings me to my next question.
How do you find the 100-400 with the converter, I must admit I don't use it if I can avoid it as I seem to get precious few sharp shots with this combination. The lens on its own is fine. I keep wondering if it is the converter or the fact that I can't keep the camera still enough. Eric

Hi Rob,
There has got to be a Hare Cut joke there somewhere.... I can't see the join so well done on the patchwork.
The foot and water movement is great but it does look a little soft around the eye.
Eric : I find the 1.4Tc on the 100-400 does affect the sharpness considerably, and I too rarely use the combination. However, I really had trouble getting close enough to the hares without it.
Agree with Andy Astbury with the usm, still great image

Well done, you did better than I did; all I saw was the back ends of 3 hares as I disturbed them entering their field. I also like the water flick, were you lying down in the wet field to take the shot?
Cheers John

Nice action shot, he almost looks miffed at standing in a puddle
Discussion
14 repliesOne from this mornings outing. First time I've managed to capture anything other than the back side of a Hare as it runs away.
I've had to add the tips of the ears from another image as they were just out of this shot. Is that acceptable, can you tell ?
Thanks for looking,

Yup, another round of USM has helped.

Thanks all,
