Great Crested Grebe
One from today at Mere Sands, got some shots of it with a fish but the light and water ripples dont help the image!! might need to do some shadow/highlight on them (mr astbury!)

Nikon D2xs
Sigma 500mm
Beanbag/Hide Window
ISO 200
1/250th at f6.3
RAW

Thanks for looking

Andy

Hi
Excellent shot, very atmospheric with great composition. If you do'nt mind me asking how do you rate the Sigma 500 ?
I'm thinking of investing in it to go on a 1d mkIIN

i like it, the only thing i find i get with it is lens envy when i see the nikon version!!! apart from that it is tack sharp and a lot lighter, i use it on the 393 manfrotto head as well

Hi Andy,

Could just do with the shadows lifting a touch :wavey:

That's a fine shot, and I wouldn't do anything that might reduce the way it stands out from the background.

Hi Andy,

Very nice and atmospheric. Mere Sands Wood caught my attention as that is close to home, so I checked your website. I wish I had of known about the Exhibition as I would have called in. I went past twice on Saturday heading to Marshide ! If it is likely to continue into early April then please let me know.

Cheers

Austin

Very good, Andy...differerent with that very dark water..I rather like it

I really like the darkness of the water, helps the GCG stand out and makes it a different shot
