1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4TC, 1/400s, f8, iso 400. Cloned OOF twig in BG.
Still haven't managed to get one of these in a "clean" environment, but they are entertaining! I have managed to find a natural hide in a bush (gorse!!) about 3m away from where they are taking their feathers, presumably to a nest. They are completely unphased.
Incredible shot Ian
The environment is ok for me

Cute little devils aren't they Ian - nice image
If you put an elevated flat surface near the feathers they will come for an investigation, especially if you put a chunk of moss on the table - a nice perch with upright and flat bits and you might get what you are after.
They are 'nosey-parkers' and love to rumage around.

Like the sense of scale the feather gives. Don't envy you sitting in the gorse!

I think that is a wonderful shot, with just the right amount of clutter. None of it interferes with the shot of the bird but it stops it from looking like you shot it in the living room against the wallpaper. I am coming to the conclusion that my favourite shots have as much environment as possible in them without intruding on the subject's space. Eric
