Bet this doesn't go down too well but here we go anyway
I've risked life and limb getting close to old CV40 (same geezer as the previous post) - sub 18" from his right flank, he wasn't a happy bunny
Lots of frames wasted trying to get everything sharp this is frame 139 out 176 and there's only this and 1 other sharp corner to corner.
Quite substantial curves adjustments in Bibble Pro in order to get the definition (Siggy plugin for anyone interested).
Tried it as a BW conversion but it losses a bit of impact so left it RGB - funny thing is the slight red tinge at the bottom must be for real because the other usable shot is a bit lower on the body and there's more red in the feathers on that frame - must be something to do with light refracting on/in/thru the feathers, and whacking the contrast and saturation up has brought the colours out.

Certainly different, works though...

Like this a lot, loads of interest in the textures.

Yes he does Magnus - but it's a pretty comedic idea, most stropy cobs I've come across are all wind and trousers if you know what I mean, but if you just stay low and quiet but mega confident they are pussycats - a Hovis loaf helps a lot
Good creativity Andy and was going to say what a great steady hand you have...but 176 shots?!!??
Detail is amazing and good to view

Yeah Graeme - I know, thank god for digital
Every one was sharp in the center though - I'm not that bad, it's so damn hard to do when you can't see much definition in the subject, it's just white on white with some very narrow very pale shadows - shall not be doing it again in a hurry

Interesting exercise Andy. Surprised to see just how damaged and worn the ends of the feathers are. It's not hard to see why birds have to moult is it? Eric
