OK, actually it's my second post. My first was signing up for the spring gathering, and then I promptly suffered a disk crash
I took my 14yo daughter on a waterfall search to North and South Carolina over spring break and am just today finding time to go through the images. This is Eastatoe Falls in South Carolina. It sits about 100 yards behind a very fortunate fellow's house. He was very gracious about letting us visit the falls.
Nice to see your work, Bryan. This is a beautiful cascading waterfall. I'd bet this would look nice in B&W too. Thanks for sharing some Carolina scenes.
Welcome to the forum, Bryan. Great first post. I was about to post a photo of a waterfall, but it pales in comparison to yours, so nevermind! See you at the spring gathering.

Hi Bryan, welcome to CSNP! What a beautiful waterfall and a super first post. I love how the water bounds off all the shelfs and ledges, very nice. A great find and its nice to hear that the landowner was willing to let you have access to this site. Thanks for sharing ... looking forward to more!

Thanks for all of the kind comments. (And Tim, I did lose a few post-process pics that I hadn't backed up, but thankfully I still have the raws. Reinstalling everything was the only pain.)
Turns out I made a typo in my post. This falls is actually in North Carolina (just inside the border) near Rosman.
The falls is listed in Kevin Adams' guide book (which I highly recommend for anyone headed to North Carolina), but I was still hesitant about visiting, because you literally have to park in the guy's driveway. He was home, and as I said, was very gracious.
Thanks again for making the new guy feel welcome.

A lovely, stair-stepping, multi-faceted cascade with delicate texture. To my eye it would improve the proportions a little if you trimmed a bit off the bottom, but of course it's also fine the way it is.
I'd just be guessing, but I'd guess the graciousness quotient goes up and the run-you-off-the-property-with-a-shotgun quotient goes down when you show up at the guy's door with a daughter in tow. If this waterfall is listed in a guidebook, I'd be inclined to surmise that the shotgun response is more common than graciousness, and apt to be more so as time goes on.
