Robin in Puddle
Robin
I thought the bird was not the best,( head would have been a little better straighter perhaps )but thought the reflections were good in this one. It shows how it can help to add a little vegetation to the water - in this case some dead bracken.

Very nice indeed,
You seem to have a great outdoor studio, how long did it take for you to set this up, do you also have feeding or is it just the water that brings the birds in?

Thanks

Thanks all.
The pond took 30 years to set up with a permanent hide. !! That's how long I have been using this one. Others are temporary puddles or temporary hides. You need to plan carefully and find an area fairly devoid of water. The birds also need to feel secure with cover around for example. The secret though is familiarity. It has taken a long time to get the birds to accept this pool and they will even use it in heavy rain. They seem to attract others too.Tis one also dries up,m in the summer so it takes two watering cans of water every day when it does. It is only 200 yards from the house so its not so bad. I think at the last count I had photographed 41 species at it.

Lovely shot, John - the Robin almost seem camouflaged in this water... :toast:
