A word of warning from experience:

I spoke with HP today about the failure of my laptop (DV6330 - 8 months old). They confirmed there is a "known issue" with the motherboard of these laptops which results in a 20-60% expected failure rate

If it happens within 2 years of purchase they will collect, repair and return (in about 10 days)your laptop BUT they will not preserve your data - i.e they FORMAT THE HARD DRIVE. if you haven't backed up you loose it!

The courier was supposed to collect mine before 12, its now after 1pm and no sign of him. THat's two days lost working time already then....

Not to mention the cost of data retreiveal - I back up on the 1st and that was when it went :frown:

HP are not recalling the product OR notifying registered owners. So, tell everyone you know with a HP 6000 series laptop. They will thank you for it!
