My chief storm chasing partner and I used to offer storm chasing tours (google Twistertours) to the public (charging $1200-2000 per wk of chasing) but had to discontinue them due to work responsibilities. This season (spring) we are looking for interested individuals in order to help us with (the huge) gas expenses. Generally, with our guidance you can expect about a 50/50 chance of photographing a tornado, based on our 10 years of experience in the field. A 100% chance of some great lightning and storm structure opportunities. Requirement is willingness to spend long hours in a vehicle, eating chicken fried steak daily, and flexibility with time schedule. If interested, contact me directly through my email and ill give you the details.

I'll keep this in mind, as I have always wanted to photograph severe weather. Though tornados do scare the **** outta me since one skipped over my house when I was 11 in Wisconsin. I would just have to make sure to pack extra Charmin LOL

I'm with Dave. If you'd offered this to me a couple of years ago, the chicken-fried steak would have been a bonus. As a diabetic, it's not really on the menu any more.

Stan,
I had no idea you were a storm chaser! I am a meteorologist and spent 6 years chasing on the Plains through my college storm chase team (Ball State Univ.) and had some of the best times of my life! you are right about the LONG hours in the car (storm chassing is 95% sheer boredom and 5% adrenaline rush). I will miss this year's season, but i'd love to meet up with you in future years. I still have friends that chase every year, but my job hasn't allowed for that kind of time off for a couple years.
Just as a teaser for those of you thinking of joining Stan, here's the fun stuff you can "catch".
