Once again, here is another topic suggested by a fellow RMNP member - Icons. So break out your Delicate Arch and Bells shots and let's see what great images we can come up with.

If you have other ideas for monthly topics shoot Rene or me and email.

Thanks.

Sweet shot, Mel. I think that's my favorite shot I've see of yours.

Here's a "monumental" icon...

I'll add another iconic Valley shot. Took this a couple of years ago. Nice contributions everyone!

What could be more iconic than the state flower (at least the state flower of Colorado).

Wow Guy, that is stunning! Incredible colors and perfect shutter speed. Love it!
Posted by Grant Collier on April 9, 2008 at 5:39 PM
Nice one, Guy. I have to get down to Havasu Falls!

I think this location has pretty much become an icon:

This isn't a very good scan, but its back from my film days and certainly a place that has been the subject of a few photos. I think I have a better scan somewhere, but its on a disc somewhere in my basement....

I guess no one has put this unknown gem up either, I was surrounded by about 60 other photographers and another 50 bystanders -- it doesn't get much more iconic.
Posted by Mel Ladewig on April 9, 2008 at 10:45 PM
You can always count on the RMNP folks to crank out a sweet icon shot. Good stuff, all of it.

Rich V suggested I post my Dewey bridge pic here so.....

Colorado seems a bit under-represented here so I thought I'd add a popular icon of the autumn season...Mt. Sneffels.

Another Colorado Icon ( I think this is in the dictionary as an example for the word  )

Super shots Guy and Amy! I'm surprised none of the photo gods have posted the Bells. Here's my first attempt three years ago.
