It looks like both the Singh Ray and Lee GND filters fit in the Cokin P holders. The Singh Ray filters are about $20 more expensive at B&H Photo.
Any real difference ?
I use the Singh-Ray ND Grads. The quality is very high. Since they are acrylic, you have to be pretty careful with them to prevent scratching. Personally, I would order the filters direct from Singh-Ray, since it would be easier to get service if something is not right. Bob Singh is very personable and will work with you if you have a problem.
I second Preston's comment here Andrew if you elect to use the Singh Ray units. I bought mine directly from Bob Singh also many years back now. Also mentioned is the fact they are acrylic, so care is required, but after many years use I have no scratches on the face of the filters, only along the sides where they slide through the Lee holder I use.
Not sure what camera and lenses you use, but if you use wideabgle zooms such as a 17-40 or 16-35 on a full frame body or a 10-22 on an APS-sized sensor, you may want to consider going to the larger Cokin Z-Pro or the Lee 4x6 filter holder to avoid vignetting. The P-size holder vignettes badly on wide-angle zooms, and the wide angle version only allows one-filter at a time (I often use three filters at once). Cokin, Lee and Singh-Ray make 4x6 sixed filters. Just a thought. Darwin
I have used both brands, and I ended up buying the 4x6 Singh Ray GND's. I use the Z-Pro holder when I am not able to, or don't feel like hand-holding the filter.
