Hit the Brakes!
That's what I said while driving along, when I looked over and saw this, stark and proud against the sky.

Canon 400d, Sigma 17-70 lens, polarizer f9 1/40 sec. I cloned out some stray limbs on the side and toned down the foreground.

What do you think folks?

The tree looks like an infrared shot with all the white blooms. The blue background really contrasts well with the tree. Very good idea on hitting the brakes. - scott

Absolutely hit the breaks. Wow! Beautiful image Bruce.
You might try some additional cropping to see if you like the results. To me, the ground at the bottom seems to detract from the tree, and there might be too much empty sky above. Then again it might be perfect the way it is.

Bruce,
I like it the way it is. Good shot!

John I did try cropping closer and it seemed better this way. It seemed to need the ground to anchor the image and a certain amount of blue sky to give contrast. I do wish the foreground was green pasture instead of the strewn with brush but you work with what you get.

Then again on any given day I might just crop close

A beauty of a tree set against a vivid blue sky. I could go either way on a crop from the top, initially thinking a crop would tighten this up some. Great find Bruce!
