For those not from the area, the phrase "Youngstown, Ohio nature icon" sounds like an oxymoron. However, Youngstown has Mill Creek Park, and Mill Creek Park has a few iconic photo spots (iconic on a local scale, of course). Daffodil meadow, located adjacent to Lake Newport, is one. I think I'll be posting this image in this week's "Spring" weekly challange, but I thought I'd also post it here because of where it was taken. For anyone interested, spring is a little late around here this year. We still have a couple more weeks before the meadow will look like this.

Beautiful spot, Scott. The light is fantastic. Thanks for sharing this "Youngstown icon" with us.

Nice photo. Wish we had something like it around here. Your photo reminds me that I was going to check out the Tulips in Pella Iowa this year. Spring is way behind last year in our area as well.

Great spot, Scott!
Our Daffy's are also coming up in this area, although for some reason, our normal harbingers of spring, the Crocus, appear to be missing this year.

What a beautiful image and scene Scott, the light is wonderful in this, and all the great detail really makes this a special shot. Great work !!

Scott, really nice shot. I just heard the weather report and we might get more freezing rain/ snow on Wednesday or Thursday. I love Chicago weather. My spring shots will be of plants emerging, no blooms, gray bark and early robins in snow. Ha-Ha. Hope you get some spring soon too.
Nice, Scott. The Morton Arboretum, which is only about 15 minutes from my Chicago area residence, has a couple of spots like this one (most notably the Daffodil Glade. I should post one of my images from there...and good thought on the Weekly Challenge entry as well.
Very nice Scott! I can see why it'd be an "icon" of sorts. It's nice to see a profusion of blooms...Hopefully in a month or so, Minnesota will catch up.
