Last Thursday was a beautiful spring day in the South,so I decided to go to an Adder site to see if any one had woken up yet,and actually found three females,I think the males were still having a lie in!!
We have had a fire on this heath about a month ago so I was not sure what to expect, but I think they have survived............

Its a shame of the shadow running over the image but it is nice that spring is here...or is it? Nice image.

Did you get any from a low angle?

Nit's have been covered. Lovely markings on it, looks to be a good project in the making?

Stewart.
Nice shot. ' I've worked on these for a few years now and usually the males are out first - taking up territories.
This one with the neck coiled is in strike mode or ready for off !
Cheers

Hi Guys.. Yes I hear what you say,and it would have been a lot better without the shadow, but that's how it was,I did contemplate removing it,but decided not to in the end.For any one who's never tried these before, they normally dont tolerate you near them for very long, and find the nearest cover as quick as possible, so start taking shots as soon as you see them and then try moving closer,I use to use my 300mm,and I think I will go back to it,as it allows you a bit more time....................
