This is an upstream view of Sidewinder Falls, plus links to another one from downstream looking up, and a pair of images from the little slot canyon on the creek - one image looking upstream towards V Falls and the other looking downstream. These are just quick snapshot edits, but are the first images of this neat new waterfall area that I have seen published.

I really like the V Falls shot, it isn't your ordinary waterfall.

Another fine example of some of the unique and unusual landscapes to be explored in the Ozarks. Nice find, Tim - well worth all the effort to get to. Thanks for posting!

When I look at these I just marvel at the plethera of unique and beautiful intimate landscapes that make up Arkansas. I see how you could spend a life time exploring this region and never see everything it has to offer.

The other thing I wonder is whether there has ever been enough rainfall / runoff to fill this canyon in the last century. That would be a thunderous and amazing sight to behold!

Some very nice additions to your portfolio Tim but I can't wait to see your shot of the day from here!

Hey Wayne, I doubt the water could have ever filled this canyon completely in modern history - for that to happen the Big Piney River - three miles downstream - would have to have backed up all the way to this point, which meant the Arkansas River would have also have had to have backed up, and that never happened in recorded history, but perhaps back when the ice age melted away and everything was covered.

I do have other shots from this trip but I suspect my shot of the day would be one of those already posted - I don't have an actual spot to designate this (although I do label some as such in the Journal), but it is rather my own personal goal to do at least one each day this month. Looks like I'm going to need an umbrella to get one today - hey Bill, don't you feel the flu coming on?

No flu - just a little indigestion worrying about how many snares and booby traps I'm going to find this weekend! Now who was it that sells those little gadgets that tells my wife where I'm at in case of an emergency?

What a find, Tim. Looks like a truly marvelous place.

How unusual, I love the way your eye flows through the pic with the water. Really neat!

It will probably be a couple of years before I make it to Sidewinder Falls, but it is definitely on my must-see list. Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm with John. I've barely scratched the surface of your guidebook, and you go and add another incredible location!

Even if I never make it there, I do appreciate your sharing the pics (as well as the adventure).
