These two shots were taken in more recent times than the Jurassic era slide scan of the last post. I shot them both with a little 5 MP jpeg-only camera in another pretty good Balsamroot year, perhaps 6 years ago. The first is from Nahahum Canyon again – I leaned over a barbed wire fence to hand hold this shot in the evening hours. The second one, the “portrait”, is in the Icicle Canyon above Leavenworth. Must be something about the granite-derived soils up there, I dunno, but the wildflowers in the Icicle tend to be robust herkers like this.
I apologize, but I don’t have the tech data on these shots. Something like
Sony V-1, 1/250 @ f/8, hand held, jpeg output.
Beautiful Balsamroot up there. The second one really pops, the color and sharpness look great. I'll be up in Leavenworth the first weekend in May, do you have any suggestions for a daytrip in the area? What do you think the wildflower situation be?

Used Marc's web sharpening technique on both shots.
I'm sending you an email.
