Purple Sandpiper
Seem to be going through a lean period recently, and am using my limited free time just observing nest building.

Grabbed this about three weeks ago, and although my local patch seems to be a stronghold for these birds, there has been a lot of disturbance recently {and their numbers have shrunk enormously}.

Hopefully things will return to normal, now the easter break is over, and i can hopefully grab some more shots of these chaps, before they move on.

Very nice picture Alan. Good exposure, colours, lighting and good strong catchlight. I have never seen one of these and if I'm honest I had never even heard of them until they started showing on this forum recently.
