When I was looking for frogspawn in a pond, my eye fell on a immovably sitting toad at the bottom. Because of the clear water and the fact that it was sitting close to the bank, I decided to try and photograph it. But just when I was in position, the toad moved and slowly crawled up the rising bank towards the surface. It only surfaced for a brief moment, but just long enough to take this picture.
The brief moment was all you needed, and being prepared has paid off

Hi Sandra,
Different from the norm, was thinking a lower PoV would have been better but have decided I like it as is, because of the legs under water.

I like it Sandra - cropped limbs don't bother me at all as they are OoF and in a different medium from the point of focus - very nice capture

Works ok for me Sandra
I think Toads can have a bit of human nature in them. Some come and have a look and disapear at your slightest movement. Others are just plain nosey and watch your every move with real interest. Great fun.

Very nice capture! I like the way you can see his legs! A touch tight in the frame for my taste though!
