Photo Art Gallery Update

We have two new updates to the Photo Art gallery that should make it an even more enjoyable.

First, the gallery has been renamed Photo Art & Series. The "series" part mean that we can now post a series of photos as shown in this example. If photo series become popular enough, we will certainly consider creating a separate gallery for them.

Secondly, we are pleased to have Danny Young (aka "nzmacro") co-moderating the updated gallery with Cindy Mead. A long time NPN member, Danny brings a huge amount of enthusiasm and talent with him which we are confident you will benefit from. Our sincere thanks to Danny for his time, effort and passion!

Sounds great. Good to have you, Danny; you and Cindy will be dynamite co-moderators! Love the series idea.

Oh, I guess you are looking for a series of posts to a single thread (?) as opposed to a series presented as a panel.

Thanks Jim.

Yes you could do it that way Pete. The one you have in there is fine like that as well. Neat subject by the way. A montage is fine as a block of one image, a bit like we used to have. The idea is to have a series of shots that relate to each other.

You can make up one large image of around say, 600 - 650 x 2500 pixels. The width across we are regulated by, but in length we can go longer. So we can join quite a few images together in the length. The problem comes in with the compression for the 200kb file size. Well worth trying though and maybe somewhere along the line, Jim can have that altered for in there. Still a few things to sort out as we go.

A bird series coming into land, a flower series as it blooms at different stages. The same landscape at different times of the day or different seasons, etc. It could well be the same manipulated art work at different stages as you go through the process. So the list is virtually limitless really and I'm sure we are fairly open to ideas, so post away.

Its also a good way for people to look, see and learn about subjects that are out of our normal field. Might get more views and comments on the art works as well and get people interested in trying that.

So come one, come all. If you have a series of shots you want to show, please post away.

This is a great idea, Jim. I have often looked at Photo Art and wondered how I might contribute this, but I think I will have a better chance of coming up with something now.

Can they still be posted here if say part of the series has been posted in another forum?

Winnie, certainly they can. All topics at NPN and whether you have posted the shots in any of the forums does not matter. Just group them together and post away. Looking forward to all sorts of series shots. :toast:
