I won't be able to make it to the Smokies until April 21-22. I'm sure the finged phacelia along Porters Creek trail will be gone by then. Will this still be a good location for 4/21-22? Is Fern Branch Falls worth the trip? Do you recommend any other hot spots for those dates? I can't wait to go.. hope to see some of you there! :wavey:

Alice I was there this morning and you are right the phacelia will probably be gone by then, I saw brown wilting flowers on plants this morning. As far as the falls go, it's a long hike up there for a fall that is not that impressive. I shot it this morning and I'll get an image up as soon as I get home Monday or Tuesday so you can be the judge :) Hope that helps

Thanks Thomas. Will you post it here or in ESS?

Here more than likely, unless I really like it

Alice, my recollection is that there is a lot of clutter underneath Fern Branch Falls. I suspect earlier in the spring it may be easier to get a shot due to the canopy being more open, but as the trees leaf out the views become more challenging.

Thomas, can't wait to see what you came up with. You've got a knack for water :-)

Looks like you did a good job with it! Not much water there, but the surroundings are pretty. :wavey:
