Hi everyone

I am switching my tripod legs, and would appreciate help on finding the right adapters for the heads. Here is my situation:
- I had a Bogen tripod with a Bogen ballhead, connected via 3/8" screw.
- Now I have a Hakuba CF tripod and panhead, with 1/4" connection.

I want to put my Bogen ballhead onto my new Hakuba tripod, and the only thing I could find was this adapter:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5596-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_3367_1_4_20_to_3_8_Adapter.html

which I think will work, but am not sure.

On the other hand, I cannot find any good adapters to put my Hakuba head on the Bogen tripod (I want to sell them). All the adapters I found don't look like plates, and would almost certainly introduce a wobble in the head (I think). Here is one:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546532-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_015_015_Female_3_8_to.html

If anyone can help me find better products, or maybe recommend to ditch the effort and get a new ballhead for my Hakuba, please help.

Thank you.

I bought the following adapter last year. It might be closer to what you're looking for:

Momo,

The two top pro head/support companies are Kirk Enterprises and Really Right Stuff. I use Kirk and have a
BH-1 ball head for all-around use, with a Kirk QR and Kirk plates for each lens and camera. (I also have a Kirk King Cobra for handling my 600.) My camera plates are "L" shaped and camera body specific, so you can switch to a vertical comp without changing perspective. It's costly when you jump in, but well worth it IMHO. The only thing I buy now is an "L" bracket each time I buy a new body. Good Luck.

Look closely at the Hakuba head. There may be a 3/8-16 to 1/4-20 bushing in the tripod head. I have a Velbon tripod and head that are nominally 1/4-20 but the head was assembled with an adapter bushing. Here are some quick snaps of what it looks like.

[Edit] Also check both tripods to see if the screw is reversible.

I'll back Mark up. I've had a tripod where the post was reversible. I think it was my Velbon 630. I also have a head with one of these threaded inserts.

Thanks guys. I can see the bushing in the Hakuba head. I just need a flathead screwdriver wide enough to unscrew it. :toast:

You guys are amazing! That little bushing fixed both of my problems for free, in 3 minutes. Thank you again. :toast: :toast: :toast:
