Changes coming to Cisco?
My girlfriend and I went to Moab for a long weekend. We weren't too surprised by the amount of oil development around Rifle, but I wasn't aware it was going on in eastern Utah too. East of Cisco we saw a number of rigs going in, and plenty of roads being cut. When we pulled in to Cisco we were greeted by this view. Is this for real, or just some wishful thinking on the part of the owner?

wow! Well, they want to drill for nat gas at the base of Mt Herman too! I will see these derricks from my backdoor! The "fracing" process alone will likely pollute the ground water and we have to drink that stuff!

I saw that sign too, I think they're really going after gas exploration.

Cisco and the surrounding area is being drilled extensively. Rigs are going in all around Moab, too. Hell, there is a HUGE one just outside Deadhorse Pt. State Park up on the plateau. Most of them are natural gas rigs although there is some oil exploration, from what I can gather.
