Ian

Very nice.

Just for interest, you can overcome the efects of very contrasty conditions by some processing, have a go at;

Duplicate layer and then on this new layer;
Desaturate image
Invert image
Gaussian blur radius 10
blending mode - change to overlay
opacity - reduce to about 70%

The changes are subtle but quite rewarding - similar in effect to using the shadow/highlight tool but I find the effects can be better as you can sharpen the original layer without introducing the halo frequently seen when aggressive shadow/highlight has been used

Good to see one of these, can I suggest you stop down further when using a 2x to say F/11+ as this will increase sharpness. Still a fine capture.

Nicely done Ian, and your manual focusing has done the job nicely!

Typical proud looking stance, and a fine result :toast:
