Tom Biggs and I were headed to shoot some Wildflower spots early Sunday morning and came across these Elk wondering across a construction site near Cherokee NC. While we were watching the beautiful animals stroll across this site, the bull pictured here decided to play with a piece of corrugated pipe. He almost acted like he was angry with it.There was one bull and two females. All three had tracking collars. Anyway, after 15 minutes they continued their way back into the woods.
We knew the day was going to be a delight after this treat!

Cool! I saw what must've been those same Elk the other day. They weren't at the construction site, but were grazing in a grassy field just before you get to it. Do you guys know what they're building there? It's huge and has been under construction for a couple of years now.

Lori, I remember seeing a sign, it is some kind of school I believe.
Tom is correct...It is the NEW Cherokee School (K-12). Huge complex. When I asked about it they said it was a Green School. Supposedly environmntaly friendly.

Wow, that's great! I'm so glad it's something good and worthwhile. It's so big I figured it was going to be some kind of tourist complex.
