Short-eared Owl
Been putting in alot of time with this Guy lately and it has been difficult but great fun. I am in a hide when photographing so he is quite relaxed but on this occaision I had to swing the lens round to track him and he noticed the movement and gave me this wonderful stare.

Canon 1D MK11, 500mm lens, 1.4x Convertor, 1/1250, F5.6, ISO 200.

very nice, spent most of winter trying to do these and only came away with a few "enviro shots" so am particularly envious, suprised they are still around, are they breeding?

Hello Jack

I think he is a scandanavian bird and he is catching prey for fun so might stick around for a bit longer but really he could be gone at anytime.

I was using a KK Hide at my site for the SEO, found it very frustrating with the limited view and low level at which the hide sits, kept missing the shots

Nice work...
