Singing Corn Bunting
Canon 1D MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, f8, 1/4000, ISO640, RAW, RSE, CS2, Bean bag on car window ledge. small crop for comp.

Hi All,

This is from last week when I had a good morning session at a local spot, this was just after my Yellow Wagtail. Early in the mornings the Corn Buntings are very vocal and as they are pairing up seemed to be nowhere near as skittish as a few weeks back. I also have some shots of them displaying(wing lifting/fluttering etc)which was interesting to see.

All comments welcome

Regards

Lovely work, why ISO 640 when you had plenty of light ie: shutter speed of 1/4000....

My 1D was a friday afternoon build I reckon, never go above ISO 250 if I can help it.....

Hi Anthony,

The ISO was an error, the light was just picking up when I shot the Yellow Wag so as it was on the move upped the ISO for shutter nspeed, then in the heat of the battle forgot to lower it again

Cracking pose and composition - I know you've been working these birds for a while and it's always worth it when you get stuff like this.
