from my "pond" that i setup around december, quite a different approach to John Robinson's pools in fact it is based/inspired by Bence Mate's ones only a lot smaller, still needs lots of work i will iron out the glitches as they become apparent
today was the first time i have used it, i setup a "hide" in the garden so far the species are quite limited i only had a few woodpigeons, plenty of starlings and a recent arrival to the garden a goldfinch

Jack
Nice one.
You will have seen my views on the low angle and reflections. This is exactly what I mean. I never know whether to go for the bird or reflection !
Cheers

Very nice set up Jack. For me I think I would try a slight move to the left to remove that first layer of out of focus foreground front right. I often use oof foregrounds to frame up but I think this bit is a touch too much. Apart from that it really is a lovely picture of a lovely bird.
Good luck with project.

Agree with Robert about the right hand foreground edge but I like the potential. Good luck with it!

Hi Jack,
Lovely project to have on the go I'd say!
Lovely image! with a great point of view IMHO! Not too sure about the bright spot in the top left hand corner and it also a wee bit tight in the right hand corner! - I didn't mention the tail though!
Good thinking for an interesting project for yourself... any nits have been covered and I am sure you will get better images and perhaps more species...
Looking forward to viewing the progress here.

Superb capture Jack. The POV is great and the project should yield good shots.

Like this a lot and the potential is obvious - enjoy the project and be patient with it!

I like this also, and my only drawback is the eye area being lost.
Early days, but an encouraging shot, and looking forward to future developments
