I got the 4X5 back from my evening venture up on RRR a few weeks ago. Finally got around to scanning it and have to say that its a challenging scan. Also, as I mentioned, I forgot my warming filters and GNDs at home so I was a little under equipped for the shot. With some desaturation of the blues I think it turned out OK though.

And as a bonus a scan from a shot from December. Also with the 150 on Provia. I love having detail separating even the distant background trees. I shot a few sheets this particular morning and I suspect I might have shown this one shot on my light table before. It was a crisp morning near 0F.

That first shot is sweet. The cloud layer is really interesting, with the snow underneath. Also, as I mentioned before, I like how you can see the valley below... it gives a good sense of scale of the enormity of the Pikes massif.
I like 'em both, but the 2nd is really cool with the frozen area in the shade and the sun warming the peak. Nice!

The color on that first one is kind of a gun metal blue/gray, very interesting. Next time set the white balance correctly on your view camera. (jk)
I like 'em both, but the cold feel of that first one, and the cloud (man) is really nice.

I agree with Todd on that first image. The gun metal hue really makes it interesting, I can feel the cold just looking at it. I like the second image too but I'd hang that first one for sure...great job!
Both are exceptional, Mel. I'd hang 'em side-by-side. And I agree with Jack - having the valley floor in the first one makes it special. I think it's the only image of Pikes I've seen that reveals its magnitude so clearly and effectively.

Both are fantastic, but the first one is really outstanding. I agree with the others, seeing the difference between the valley and the mountain makes this an exceptional shot.
