from today, still trying to work out the best way of doing this as i am very limited by the size of the pool, i've decided this will just be my prototype and i will have to construct a bigger one not too far in the future

Lovely! Great pose and reflection! Though that little white blob is distracting me...something on the water, or something??
Superb shot!

Nice one Jack
How big is your pool?

thanks for the comments all
Andy
the pool is roughly 4ft by 2ft, would have liked to have built it bigger, but the gardens ain't huge in London and i wouldn't have been allowed to make it much larger

Very nice Jack, like the low angle. I always fancied building a pool, yours looks very natural.
Lovely shot, a better point of view than the previous starling shot. Like it.

Like it - especially the reflection. I'm in the process of getting a pool going and have gone for the raised version so I can shoot from my normal spot and the comfort of a seat!

Hi Chris
The pool is a wooden construction with a waterproof tarp, it is easily portable and currently sits on a bench 2ft off the ground

Looks to be coming along very well, full marks to you, light looks to have been slightly harsh, but here you can be in full control... reflectors and mirrors come to mind....
Def looking forward to more.

Well executed Jack
My point about the reflections is well shown here. You have to have the shot in portrait mode. Which of course is ideal I suppose as in this case for a cover shot for example.

Cracking image - nit has been covered for me.
Just out of interest, are you lying down at ground level with the pool or has the pool been raised up off the ground?
Chris.
