I have just from four great days in Sweden photographing common cranes. Every morning the cranes flew into the feeding area in their thousands normally in large groups but in this particular case a solitary pair flew just where I wanted them.

Canon EOS 1D-Mark II + Canon EF 100-400mm L UIS + tripod from hide (16 long hours three days in a row).

Lovely shot with a nicely-balanced composition. I think I would clone out that other bird creeping in in the lower left corner.

Wonderful colours and a well composed image. :toast:

Fab colours and composition indeed and the result is an evocative morning shot - agree with Jeremy on bottom left solitary bird

Lovely image - a very evocative capture :toast:

Agree over third bird - adds nothing :wavey:

Lovely and atmospheric, but I agree that the third bird adds nothing to the shot.

I agree with you all about the third bird, but I am still not happy about removing things from an image. The only processing I can accept is slight cropping. I may change my mind soon though.
