So, a few of you folks must still have an old camera or two around. Charlie has a great theme this week in the Weekly Challenge forum. Carol of course is running it fine as usual. Would love to see what a few of the avian shooters have from the golden age before 3 megapixel cameras. Landscape, man and nature shooters and wheres all those macro shooters that took shots with less than 3 megapixel. I know who you are Don't forget to mention the post processing you used for the shot.
All the best folks and we are hoping to see a few old shots from the archives before you all got rich and got into DSLR's
Danny.

Danny, You're too funny
I imagine that those cameras have long been given away. So funny because the early cameras were not inexpensive. If I look back to 2000 when I purchased my 990, the camera and a telephoto lens were about 1200 bucks--give or take.
I'm rather thinking about resurrecting mine to do some close up work
Memory time I spotted the 1.9 (2.1) megapixel CD-1000 at the time Carol, aww thats nice, gotta have that with the long zoom. Cost was $2,500 NZ, about $1,800 US at the time. Oh boy how do I justify this thing. Well it did that by itself, so never looked back really. The cost at the time though, just seemed very daunting to say the least
Before that was a Sony FD91 ($1,800 NZ) that used floppy disks . I'll post one up from that next.
All the best Carol, ahhh memories.
Danny.

Do film images count? I shot a Canon AE up until 1 1/2 years ago, and jumped to a Nikon D200. I had my processing done at labs or Walgreens which supplied me a disk of images. I made the jump to a DSLR due to free lance work at a local paper shooting high school sports. The cost was reasonable after shooting a NASCAR race w/ film and over 6 rolls of bad images had to be paid for! I love the magic "X" of digital (delete). Bruce

Seems like I'm too young for that challenge. The first digital camera I've ever touched already had 5 MP...
For those who 'don't have a camera' with less than 3 mp...I would look no further than your cell phone for this challenge. I've taken some mighty fine shots with my 1.2 MP phone cam!
