Canvas Profiles
I have not been real satisfied lately with my canvas prints, and have been checking into having another profile built. If anyone has not tried Chromix, I can highly recommend their service. Patrick Herold sent this screen shot comparing my current profile (the solid multi-colored object) with another canvas they recently profiled (red wire frame), the same day I emailed it to him. They use a Gretag MacBeth Spectroscan table and polarizer to cut the inherent reflections from canvas. Just thought some of you might be interested...

Thanks for the info Bill I appreciate it. How much was the custom profile?

One profile runs $99, but there is a discount for quantities. And that includes a 100% money back guarantee if you're not happy. That's quite a bit more than I paid for the first profile, which was also custom, but didn't include a guarantee. I guess like most things, you get what you pay for...If anyone's interested, I'll post a comparison when I get the new one.

Not bad, better to spend more up front than to waiste $ in ink and paper or canvas. Yes Bill I'd be interested to know how the service and your prints turn out.

Who did you get any other custom pofiles from inkjet art.com? And obvioulsy your not happy with the breathing color generic profile?

Thanks Gale

Booksmart Studio did all my original profiles, and I've been very pleased with the paper ones, just not the canvas. I really never looked at the Breathing Color generic. They don't have one for the 8100, but do for the 6100 which uses the same inkset - just figured it would be better to build one for my printer specifically. It might be interesting to compare gamut plots though...if I could generate one.
