Hi to all,
Another Gannet from yesterdays trip to Bempton , I just love the way they hang on the breeze ( I mean Gale ) , made the trip out to Bempton today but didn't manage any decent shots , very overcast and very windy again , will try again next week , thanks for looking.
Beautiful shot Andy. I'm off 'up north' in June to have a crack at these myself and I'll be well pleased if I can match this. Did you use a polarizer on this?

Hi Robert,
No polarizer was used , it's probably my rubbish processing , when you make the trip in June , if you want some company drop me an e-mail.
Excellent shot, really very nice. I'm determined to bring the family up to that area sometime in the next few weeks, but I'm having trouble convincing Amanda (my wife), there will be plenty to do!! I have been told a trip to York is good??? Give me some pointers to swing this trip please!!!
Regards
Rob

Cracking image. I'll be in the Bempton area around the second week of July. What might I expect to find at that time of year?

Hi Rob,
York is an excellent place to visit , excellent shopping , top class restaurants and one of the most picturesque city's this country has to offer.
Then there's the Yorkshire coast , from Bridlington right up to Saltburn-by-the-sea , a truly beautiful stretch of coastline which incorporates the North York Moors National Park , from Gannets to Golden-ringed Dragonflies , you'll have a cracking time.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dave,
Breeding season will be in full swing so the full complement of sea birds should be on offer , Gannets , Guilly's , Razorbills and Puffins then there's the Grasshopper Warblers , Sedge Warblers , Whitethroats , Skylarks , Rock and Meadow Pipits , Peregrines and Kestrels.
Whitby should be recomended but head to the south side of the bridge, the north side is a bit kiss-me-quick hat and candy floss, Robbin Hood's pay is great especially getting the kids to look for fossils.
If the weather is good North Landing at Flambrough is great, caves, loverly beach, brings back childhood memories.
Oh and Andy
Great shot

Ian , your giving away all the best spots , Rob , I second Ian's suggestions , Whitby and Robin Hood's bay should be high on your list , as it happens I was at Flamborough this morning , visited the the best cafe in Yorkshire just down the road at South Landing , home cooked food and cheap like you wouldn't believe.
