Hey folks,
I've finally dusted off my camera and have started to get out and snap off a few shots. I'm feeling much better and my Dr's thinks I have the old beast beat. I do have a few lingering side effects from my treatment and will need to be followed regularly for the next five years. This shot was taken up at Timberline lodge. I used an 6x ND filter for the blurring effect on the sky. Does it work? I am a little rusty with Photoshop but I did process it in LAB color. It's just nice to finally post an image.

It looks 3D, Erik.

They sky kind of tweeks my eyes... I like the 3D effect, but it really messes with my brain for some reason...

Hey...that really turned out good. I gotta get me one of those filters. Welcome back to photography bro! Now we just gotta get you up for sunrise picsand you'll be better than before it all started
Erik, glad to hear you are doing well and that you had a chance to get out in the field for some photography. I like the sky effect in this shot. I can see Curtis' point of how it somewhat messes with the mind. My only nit is that there are a few dust spots that could be cloned out. I guess that's what happens when you dust off the old camera.
HI Erik!! From one "semi-colon" to another it is AWESOME to see you post one my friend!! My recovery too is taking loooooonger than I had hoped but I awake each day happy I'm still kickin!!
I think the image ROCKS just for sentimental reasons and that's SWEET indeed!!
Hey, I agree with Rick. I like the cloud effect. I think the light on the mountain is kinda flat. Will be eager to see more now that you are get back out.

Thanks folks for the comments. I do agree that the Mt. is flat. This is one of those shots that I could work and work but I think you convinced me that the sky was too over the top. It was my suspicion all along so this image may end up in the old recycle bin. Right now I'm shooting no more than a quarter mile from my car so that really limits my compositions. Soon I will be hitting the trail which will open my horizon alot.

Erik: I'm just glad to learn you are making a strong comeback. Any post from you is more than welcome and we're ready to dig into them.
I'm in agreement with everyone else regarding the flat light on the mtn. The clouds are of more interest; I like esp like the movement. Keep on shooting!!!
Best Regards,
Marc

Hi Erik, glad you are up and at it again. Yes, the sky is over the top and plays with my eyes some but I do like it as long as I don't stare at it for hours! As already said the mt does seem flat. If it were to pop some more it might make for a nice image.

Sweet and unique shot (wish the mountain was more white and less grey)..... glad to hear you are up and improving. I hope it is a great spring and summer for you and your health.
