Hi, just curious what some think of this one. I used a variable ND filter for a longer exposure and low iso for the effect on the water. Your comments are appreciated! Cliff
While I admire the experiment, I don't think there's much here to capture a mood or an interest for me, Cliff. Sorry... Perhaps if the light was more even? Dunno what to suggest either...

I think the wispy effect on the water is very cool. Some increased color in the starfish might be nice. There are some cool colors there, perhaps if you brought out the greens and reds a little more or some increased contrast?

Well, I think this looks quite ethereal. This feels to me like one of those images that comes off better if you evaluate it from a figurative perspective rather than trying to take it at face value. I like it.

I'm wondering if a polarizer would have cut some of the reflection.

I wanted to use a polarizer but couldnt screw it on to the thin ND, and likewise the other way. I should keep my other ND in my bag so i can do exactly that. I'll play with the colors some also.

Cliff: I got a strong emotional reaction when I opened this one. Upon more careful study, the only thing about it I don't like is the narrow, vertical crop. If it were mine I would shave some off the bottom. Other than that nit, I think your experiment has born some pretty good fruit and I urge you to experiment some more. The muted colors are perfect for me and work with the water effects for a dreamy feel.

This is a very cool visual effect you captured.

Interesting Cliff. I can see what you were going here for but have to be honest that it's just not working for me. I think the may reason is the water glare on the upper right corner. My eye keeps going up to it.
