I think someone heard the shutter! This was the only highlight of a dark and dismal Saturday, but I guess 10 minutes of good light is better than none!

Comments appreciated as always.

Hi Dave,

Spent the whole of yesterday afternoon waiting for the one that frequents my garden to arrive and when it did the sun disappeared! Oh well, you can't win them all!

Beautiful image! Lovely birds Greenfinches! Love the smooth background as it compliments the birds very nicely!

Nice one Dave, great pose, perhaps a shade tight in the frame but that is more personal than anything else, but would like more room below. processing is perhaps just a little bright but only very little...

Lovely portrait. I agree with Phil that it is a tiny bit bright- e.g. in the bottom right. Great subject isolation.

I'm envious. We have these visiting and I haven't managed anything worthwhile yet. Hadn't noticed the bright bit before I read the comments. This just jumps off the screen at you.

Many thanks for your comments - really much appreciated. I've toned down the bottom right brightness and given the bird some more room in my latest version, and well pleased!
