Atmospheric Greylag
1D2n, 600mm is x1.4 TC, 1-100s, f10, iso 400.

I am fortunate enough to spend many weekends at Loch Tummel, which is of course more famous for the grandeur of Queen's View than its birds. However, it occasionally throws up some spectacular light, which it did this weekend. I could have had plenty close shots, but liked the mood of this. It is better larger, with a dark surround, but I don't think there is the option of a black backgound on the UK site.

Lovely light, comp and setting matched with a spot on exposure too.

Is it me or does it need a slight clockwise rotation?

Nice Ian. I reckon it could do with some CW rotation too... or I might be drunk in charge of a keyboard

Very, very nice Ian. I love these environmental shots. A good frame filling portrait is great but sometimes an image like this says so much more about the bird / animal. Superb lighting.
Well seen especially in the panoramic crop.

That is a great image, just needs that little bit rotation mentioned to stop the bird from appearing to swim downhill.
