Male Bearded Tit
Just got back from a trip to Holland and met up with Edwn Kats for a few days. On the last Day Edwin took me to his feeding station and as we were standing in the reed bed waiting for this beautiful bird a male bittern began to boom, then a Marsh Harrier flew overhead and a male bluethroat began to call, then this stunning bird turned up and I have got to say it was one of the best mornings I have had, so big thankyou Edwin for making a great trip.

If I ever manage to get one shot as good as this I will be more then happy. To be able to get the clarity of a bird like this that does not stay still for long is an excellent achievement. One of the best images of this bird that I have ever seen, well done. :toast: :toast: :toast:

You know when you look at a photo and that it has had nearly 300 views and thirty comments that it is going to be a corker. Well it certainly is a corker! But for me I would have wished you were on the other side of the bird and it was a frontal shot. Neverthess I have never seen one, only heard them and I would be happy for just a record shot.
Posted by Edwin kats on April 22, 2008 at 4:23 PM
I enjoyed this trip as much as you did Danny:) A real stunner this shot. I know how happy you are with these. We tried hard to get a frontal shot but that didn't work out. We don't have them on a leash and I'm glad. We enjoyed our stay in the Reeds and had a fantastic morning listning to the Bittern and bluethroat.
Hope to see more.
