I've been having fun with digital bw... I converted an Epson 2200 to Piezography Selenium K7 inks and it's printing beautifully on matte rag art papers. The system uses a dedicated RIP to convert a grayscale image to 7 shades of gray ink.

I've posted several new series of work on my site; this image is from a new black and white collection. C&C always appreciated!

Hey Ansel, good stuff! I need to spend more time browsing, but initial impressions are, well, impressive!

Nat,
I like your site and your work. Regarding Piezography, I was thinking of trying it, but I read that Epson won a lawsuit against manufacturers of oem ink cartridges and they may not be available anymore. Have you heard anything about this?

Nat ~ All good stuff. I found myself staring at "anomaly" and "four post in water" for quite some time.

I like your website, as it's nicely laid out and very fast. The photos are great, with several outstanding ones. I am somehow partial to the pics of Cinque Terre. Thanks for posting.

Excellent, Nat! Hard to pic a favorite from your B&W gallery. I bet these are great prints!

Your conversion resulted in excellent separation in the tones. Nicely done.

Loved the website tour! You've been quite busy the past year or so and have come away with some real quality stuff!

Excellent work on your site, Nat. This image and others in your black and white gallery are great. I also really like Unfolding.

It's all been said. Excellent collection Nat. I love the way you present your work.

Great stuff Nat! I second the comment on your website being very fast.

I toyed with the idea of piezo Inks, but the newer printers (Epson 7800/9800 and HP Z3100) appear to do a fantastic job with B&W. Have you had a chance to compare your piezo prints against some of these printers?

Thanks a lot guys. I appreciate your taking the time to look at my site and I'm thrilled that my work resonates with such a talented group!

Paul - I don't know anything about the repercussions of that Epson lawsuit; I'll have to look into it, but I don't imagine Jon Cone would have to stop making Piezography inks as a result of that situation.

Rene - I printed lots of BW on my 9800 before getting the piezo inks. There is really no comparison... vs. the 9800, my 2200 with piezo produces MUCH better looking prints.

(I can mail samples of piezo prints; contact me if you're interested)

I would love to set up a 9880 with piezo; that will have to wait...
