Starling looking mean !
Starling ( baited )
We don't get these in the forest any more, so taken in a town garden. One of my favourite birds.
D100 Cosinon 200-400
640 ISO
f8
Thanks for looking.

At this time of the year when they are in full plume alot of colour can be found from a normally uninteresting bird. :toast:

Great pose from the bird... would have liked a slight head turn but not a lot you can do there... I have them nesting in my attic... but no chance of getting images.

Hi John

Very different, really emphasises the plumage and the jizz. Is that Cosinon a manual with Pentax thread?

Really photogenic these and often overlooked. Nice image John :toast:

Thanks
Brian- No it's a Nikon fit lens, which I adapted with a clamp so that you pulled the camera back to zoom instead of the barrel shooting out the front of the hide. A lot of my best stuff done with it. I got through two (at £200 each ) The clamp couldn't take the weight of the camera. But financially worth it. You can still get them if you shop around . The focus was a bit slow but they worked fine for me with a D100 and a D70s. I still use them as dummy lenses in hides that I leave in situ.
Cheers
John

Beautiful individually, en masse sublime. The shape shifting by the flocks is magical.
Sadly starlings along with house sparrows have all but disappeared where I live.
Very nice image.
