Aha! Thought it was gonna be the same old boring fallen roof ruins I bet. These ruins are actually a short distance down the canyon from its more famous counterpart. Its ceiling is maybe not quite as interesting as fallen roof, but I thought it was darned photogenic in its own right. Besides, the fallen roof ruins are passe. You wouldn't catch me dead shooting those!!

Ok...I lied. I guess I did take one (or maybe a dozen or two) there as well!

Nice shots, Guy. I, too, visited the ruins in your first shot when I was there last fall. But I didn't any images near as nice. The reveal of the mud and stick building materials is really interesting.

Guy, both of these are really good.

Very nice images! Pardon my ignorance, but where are these ruins?

D J, both these ruins (and many others from what I hear) are located in Road Canyon which cuts through southeast Utah's Cedar Mesa. The trail head to the canyon is a few miles off Hwy 261 on Cigarette Spring Rd.

I am glad you made it past the first ruin - but you are right - there is always room for another Fallen Roof Ruin shot!
